Panned Left And Right- Episode 1- Dream For A Requiem

So this is the very first episode of my podcast 'Panned left and Right' with my hetero life and production partner, PJ. In this podcast, we delve into the very beginning of the process of this sound replacement project.

Firstly, finding a video that we could stare at for 50 plus hours was important. We picked a montage scene for the movie 'Requiem for a Dream'. It is an incredibly fast paced and high impact clip, with sometimes three scenes a second on screen! We knew this would be a difficult task and this ended up being one of the main factors in choosing such a clip. To challenge ourselves. It is visually compelling by its lonesome, let alone with audio attached.

Getting the perfect recordings of Foley, ADR and FX sounds was going to be pivotal in the success of the project. In the video below, Pete and I begin to identify the sounds we needed to record and recreate, discuss how we will do it and head out into the big bad world to find and record these sounds!
